While we were on the Alaskan Cruise, it poured buckets.
It was windy, foggy and cold.
While you were all at home enjoying the sun, we too felt a few special rays.
Our first glimmer of sun shone brightly on our last day...
and since then the sun has been shining in more than one way.

Just prior to our trip, our daughter Mikki broke the news.
We got a text that said,
"I said Yes!"
And then the text messages flew as she unraveled her story.
Joe, her fiance, called us earlier in June asking permission for our daughter.
So we were waiting....for that text...but who knew when.
Would he have the courage to ask?
Would she say Yes?
And where did it take place?
Of course on the top of a mountain, where there romance began.
They celebrated with a snickers bar, and watched the snow fall softly.
It was a warm summer evening and we made her favorite meal.
Prawns, Corn on the Cob, Raspberry Salad and Watermelon.
I love watching her Father take time to hear her heart.
There's something that tugs at the heart of this Father.
We toasted together, shared stories, and wished her God's blessings.
Meanwhile, the excitement of browsing through wedding books begins.
Themes, colors, dresses, decor, invites...and the list goes on.
Wedding plans are for 2014!
And within the beauty lies her ring.
A ring which symbolizes commitment.
A ring which symbolizes commitment.
May the two of you go forward in your journey together,
with God's countless blessings shining on you!
with God's countless blessings shining on you!
That is so exciting!
