Thanksgiving Praise!

 The final days of  harvesting are over.
The corn season is officially over as of this morning.

 I've yearned to watch the sun casts it's long evening shadows.

I've enjoyed some long summer evenings with candle lit dinners.

This Fall I asked God for a favor.
I needed some quiet time...
Walking and cycling have given me the opportunities to enjoy creation.
Reading has allowed me to reflect and to ponder.
God knew exactly what I needed.
I am reminded that many times we seek to fulfill
 our need for an experience of abundance from the outside.
We look around us;
or beside us and rarely ever inside us to find what we're looking for.

 Rarely do we move into those still silent places inside of us and ask;
what do I really want?
I've been able to sit and watch a sunset more than once this fall.
I'm thankful for his presence in my life.

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"
Jeremiah 29:13

  1. You have had an unusually busy summer. It's good for you to take the quiet time to rest and relax and focus on that question: what do I really want? Are you getting answers?

  2. I love your harvest photos. They take me back to my farm days, which I love. This is a beautiful time of year and I can't get enough of the pretty fall colors. There is nothing better than some solitude surrounded by nature's beauty. It is hard to see how some can't believe in a creator- surely this wonderful earth is no accident.

  3. What a lovely post, Marg. It echoes my thoughts. You've had a very busy summer, and we've both had a daughter married this year. Bless you.

  5. That's a question I've been asking of my self lately - What is it I want the Lord to do for me?" It's been difficult to find the answer and I am encouraged by you relating your journey. thank you Marg.

  6. I wanted to be sure to make time to stop in to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Your post is lovely and inspiring. I treasure my quiet time and need it to thrive.

    Work has me too busy and interferes with my need for fun time. I'll try to do better about visiting, but I think of you often.

  7. I had to think of the words...'Be still and know that I am God'. Beautiful.

  8. Beautiful post, Marg! It reminds me of Julene's last one on Notes of my Symphony...
    where Jesus asked the blind man, "What do you want?" Does that not require a specific answer? And when we get to see Him.... those around us are also blessed.
