So What?

Remember the story of Zachaeus?
He was just one short little man...and knew that Jesus was coming to town.
He did not want to miss this golden opportunity...
He found a tree, the perfect limb, jumped up and perched himself.
He knew what he wanted.

That's what I'm reminded of when I look at this photo...
All the older cousins are playing games on their iPhones.
How does a three year old get in on the action?

As you can see...jumped up on the banquet table,
made himself known, and comfortable.
He knew what he wanted.
He was not going to miss out on the action.
The hostess and I discussed, etiquette today and yesteryear.
And everyone smiled as they watched me take the shot.

So What?

What's next? Someone, is going somewhere....

And his Opa, decided to create some fun for him.

It's what you see...
DVD player, and pockets filled with treats.
I can just see some older adult children scratching their heads.
Oh yea, they will remember the pockets filled with goodies..
"But now a DVD player? They are spoiling him!!!!"

The big boy is on his first trip to the ski hills.

So What?

  1. Oh, I like these and So What? is right own. The DVD player is such a great idea - which we've done too - but I would be in trouble with the young parents if I supplied those sugary treats, lol! When our kids were young and we planned a trip, I would take some toys out of commission for a few weeks before the trip. Then I'd prepare activity kits for each child for the trip and lo and behold, some favorite toys suddenly showed up again! Fun Memories!!

  2. I can still sing the entire story of Zachaeus - it was a favorite when I was a teen.
Such a sweet photo of the little one trying to get in on the action!

  5. Things have changed! Strap them in and entertain them ... while our kids had a bed made for them in the back and they could sleep while we drove into the late hours of the night.
Looks like you are set for a wonderful time ... travelling and skiing. May it be the first of many!! Very special!

  8. This sounds like a memorable trip for a young grandchild and a little extra treat along the way does no harm!

  9. Our travels included non-messy treats (twizzlers and such) and travel games that I made up...and stories on cassette from time to time...back in the day. The treats and the entertainment have been bumped up a notch...but so what? It's a grandparent's privilege!
