Friday's FAVE Five ~ Spring Break

We're back again to show you that spring has finally arrived.
I don't know what it's like for our dear friend Susanne,
from Living to Tell the Story...
I heard that it was cold in the prairies.
Meanwhile we enjoyed some outdoor activities.

We've always wanted a fire pit just like the one's in the Provincial Campsites.
So today we set out on a mission...found the solid steel rim,
dug out the sand and gravel, and sunk it into the ground.
Oh, yes...don't forget...he had his level...it's perfectly straight.
Big enough to cook our food, big enough to keep warm,
and big enough to bring family together.

Obviously we enjoyed those Bavarian Smokies.
Some of us burned them because we were too hungry,
while others enjoyed the rotisserie method of cooking their meat,
only to be followed by roasting marshmallow, smores and Tim Tams.
The evening cooled down, the fire became bigger...
we grabbed our down vests,
made another pot of coffee...
and enjoyed a pleasant relaxing evening around the pit,
just like we used to do when we went camping.

While some built fires and inspected the new pit...
others enjoyed the first bounce of the season.
Up, Up and away they go!

When suddenly, the youngest snuck away.
"Oh, he went to the house..."
I ran inside to where I thought he might be....
the cabinet door in the bathroom was open.....
He knew what he was looking for.

He knew exactly what to do...
I guess he thought if I was not there to supervise....
What's a man suppose to do...if the toilet is too high?
He figured it out.

Those were my special favorites this week.

  13. Oh the last one made me smile.

I'm totally jealous over your fire pit! How fun. Although it would be pretty nippy sitting around one here right now. It is cold and snowing. Again.

  14. How precious that last picture is!

Yes a fire pit is a great thing to have in the yard. We havea portable fireplace that we can move whereever we want it on the patio. But I love the idea of a permanent one,

  17. Mmmmm Tim Tams and smokies - it doesn't get much better than that.
One of my favorite things of the last week was meeting you! I can't get over the fact that I just knew what your voice would sound like before you spoke!

  18. Thanks for giving me a bit of spring - we had snow this weekend - although the sun is shining beautifully . . . :)

Mmm timtams - never thought of that one. Do you roast them? and make Smores with them? Or just eat them on their own? I'm planning ahead even if our fire pit is under a few inches of white stuff!

  19. I'm glad the fire-pit came together so well! It looks like it was fun. I love the trampoline, too. We'd be lost without ours. The kids love to jump so much!
