Yester Year

We just finished talking about our Grad experiences.
For most of us that was over 30 years ago.
We say "Those were the days, my friend."
Now do any of you recognize yourselves on these pictures?
Remember when we used to go to the beach and play?

And it didn't take long and we were at the beach again,
but we were looking like something out of Sweet Sixteen.
Can you still identify who these women are?

And now we still love to go to the beach.
Are we really this brave anymore?
That was yester year my friends...

I think it's time someone designs a new
spandex body suit and covers up just a bit more than
the new Olympic swim suits.

It must include leggings up to the ankles and
arm sleeves up to the elbows. (At least)
Do we have any takers on this?

Who do you know? Can you identify anyone?

"So stop pacing the the aisles and counting the miles.

Instead, climb more mountains,

eat more ice cream,

go barefoot,

cry less.

Life must be lived as we go along.

The station will come soon enough."

  1. Ah but one Olympic team does have the perfect suits.. .body suits. and I even saw that there was some controversy that they may make the swimmers faster because they removed all the little bumps off a swimmer. . I've ordered one up .. snicker.

  4. Well, I love your top picture, Marg! (I have no comment on the next two...at least not on this forum.) And I'll leave the spandex body suits for the Olympic athletes. As long as the swimsuits still stretch to fit...I'm going swimming.

  5. Oh dear. I think I might have qualified for both of the first two pictures depending on the time of my life. I will say that I have kept a bit more of my rear end covered than some of those ladies.

I have definitely become more accepting of what some would consider my flaws as I have matured. ;-)

  8. OH my goodness - If I was their mother, I'd have a thing or two to say those girls in the second picture!

It's so hard to find a suit that fits, covers and looks passable...

But I'll be going out tot he beach no matter what I look like - I love to swim.

You are an active lady and having a good time! I like all the fun things you do and yes, camping is the best! The smell of the fire and the cowboy dinners are so delicious out in the woods!
Where in Canada are you...if I may ask. My family is from the Edmonton area...the great prairie.
