Calla Lilies & Friendships

I believe that Calla Lilies are one of the most beautiful and unique flowers.
Not so long ago I had the privilege of touring my friends yard.

"You have Calla Lilies?" I said.

I thought those were some exotic flowers from the east.

We walked around the corner of her house: lo and behold.
I saw the most significant lilies ever.

My walking partner is a very gifted person.
She took this amazing photo and deserves the award,
"Bloggers Shot of the Day"
She not only knows how to carefully take care of plants,
but she relishes her time with family and friends.

While in Europe we stayed in a GastHaus,
where they were having a wedding.
Of course I loved snooping around and looking for new ideas.
They used a Calla Lily spray on the hood of a car.
Now isn't that unique?
I was more concerned about the metal that
could scratch the hood.
I still couldn't figure out how they attached it to the hood.

Enjoy the sun as I'm off walking, with my partner.

Some people, like flowers, give pleasure, just by being.

  1. I love Cala Lilies too. They look so exotic as you say. Our men must have us well trained because when I saw the flowers on the hood . . I thought woah, I hope that isn't marg's car. . .

  2. Marg, I love calla lilies, too. They are just magnificent blooms. They are so cool and elegant. I've never known of anyone that grew them in their yard.

Humm? I don't think I want flowers on the hood of my car either.

  3. The scent of calla lilies! And that they grow in boggy areas, planted so deep that is doesn't seem possible that they will ever be able to arise from the grave...(hence the image for death and Easter is often a calla lilie.)

I've got yellow ones and pink ones blooming, but secretly I like the white ones best!
